From our humble beginnings to a national team of approachable experts, our people have always been the key to our success. Thank you to our team, clients and partners who have been on this journey with us, we could not have made it this far without you.  

Eco Logical Australia began in 2001, when the paths of two ecologists crossed. Whilst working from a spare room and a garage, our founders led Eco Logical Australia down a legendary path. With a hunger to make a difference and by putting people and culture first, we have grown into a team of 200+, and much more than an environmental consultancy.

In 2017, Eco Logical Australia joined Tetra Tech, a global provider of consulting and engineering services with their mantra of ‘leading with science’.  This focus on getting the science right to make a difference to our clients, the community and our environment was a match for us and we use this approach to inform critical environmental decisions and deliver positive solutions.   

From on-ground ecological restoration projects, to a high-profile heritage project in Bendigo to mine closures across three states; to large scale hydrogen and green energy projects in NSW, to partnering with CSIRO to develop innovative bushfire modelling in WA, our services have evolved from our early origins while continuing to focus on the sustainable management of resources. 

Our CEO Mark Adams passionately believes the fundamentals of Eco Logical Australia have not changed since the beginning. “We are approachable experts; we are thinkers and doers guided by a strong set of values. It is because of our passion and willingness to partner with our clients to deliver positive environmental outcomes that we are continuing to grow, and we are well supported." he explains.   

Our values of listen first, share your genius, be courageous and feed the culture were ingrained into the fabric of Eco Logical Australia from the outset and are lived by our teams every day. 

Starting as a graduate five years ago, Ecologist Alex Gorey shares what it means to be a part of the ELA team. "Equality, support and respect. I've personally felt very supported, respected and encouraged to blossom in my career as an ecologist," says Alex.

Steve Dimitriadis, one of our very first employees who’s still helping us make a difference today, explains what 20 years means to him. "Every interaction I have with our people, I am reminded that you cannot achieve anything of significance in work or life if you are not surrounded by people who care, provide support as well as put in the yards. It is a pleasure to be here at Eco Logical Australia," Steve enthuses.   

With over 20 years of experience under our belt, our future direction is bright but there’s lots more work to do. We are working with our clients in the current transition from a carbon-based economy and looking to deliver nature-based solutions with numerous co-benefits to ensure sustainable development.
